I have used Derrings Kennels to board all three of my dogs during the past five years.
A sign of a good kennels is how enthusiastic the boarders arrive and enter the premises. I can say that all of my dogs have been delighted to arrive and indeed nearly knocking me over in the process! Adrian and the staff are all incredibly professional and get the combination of love, care and attention to detail just right. I would have no hesitation in recommending these well-run and well equipped kennels to any prospective clients in the future.

We rarely put our dogs into kennels, mainly because I have always been convinced that they "wouldn't like it". However, their recent trip to Derrings has changed my opinion completely.

When we called into kennels to look around unannounced, we were greeted warmly and shown round. The spacious kennels were spotless and the inmates were clearly quite content.

When we delivered our dogs there, (with much concern on my part) they left us without
 a backward glance, and were very happy to go off with their new minder. I found this reassuring.

When we collected them, although the dogs were pleased to see us, they were obviously fine and had been perfectly alright while we were away. Again the kennels were spotlessly clean and tidy (at 8am), and the dogs were cheerful and unperturbed. (They also were clean and didn't smell of kennels or disinfectant).

Above all, the impression is that Adrian and his staff like the dogs; to me that is essential.

I would not hesitate in recommending Derrings Kennels to any owner who is looking for a good quality boarding kennel and peace of mind while they are away.

Oscar, our yellow Labrador, stayed at Derrings several times over the five years from 2004. He was never perturbed by arriving at the kennels and always seemed to enjoy staying! Adrian and his staff have always professional and accommodating, and always remembered Oscar when I phoned. I would certainly use Derrings for another dog in the future.

I have had Newfoundlands now for 25 years. It can be difficult to find suitable Boarding Kennels for them; being a giant breed. My latest dog, Paddington, seems to love it at Derrings Kennels, so much so, sometimes it is like he doesn't want to come home. That's good enough for me.

Our Golden Retriever, Marley, has been going to Derrings for at least three years.  Sometimes it has been for a day or two when work has called me to the other end of the country, sometimes for a week or so when we have been on holiday. She loves it there and we know that she is always in very good hands. Adrian Cowton is wonderfully informed about dogs and all his staff are fantastic - friendly, attentive to individual dog’s needs and always helpful. The dogs are walked twice a day, have warm and roomy accommodation and must regard it in their own way as The Ritz. We have complete confidence that Marley is safe and happy there.
